ARGOS nexus benefits

ARGOS lenses

Automated inspection

Load multiple components for automated batch inspection or inspect individual large optical surfaces. Automated part detection, measurement, and evaluation reduce operator involvement while providing consistent inspection results across production quantities.

MIL report

Objective inspection to ISO or MIL standards

Dimensional ISO 10110-7 evaluation supports standards-based inspection of flat and curved optical surfaces, while visibility-based MIL-PRF-13830B evaluation provides objective inspection of flat optics. Calibrated measurement conditions enable consistent defect evaluation across a wide range of precision optical components.

Traceability for improved process control

Automated defect evaluation provides consistent pass/fail decisions without relying on subjective visual inspection. Detailed inspection reports document defects and measurement results, providing traceable surface quality data for every inspected optic.

ARGOS nexus models

ARGOS nexus 200 / 300

ARGOS nexus 200 and 300 provide flexible automated inspection in a compact benchtop system. From individual components to entire batches of precision optics, inspection areas of 205 × 205 mm and 320 × 320 mm provide the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of part sizes and production needs. Both models are suitable for use in ISO Class 6 cleanrooms.

ARGOS nexus 400

ARGOS nexus 400 extends automated inspection to particularly large optics or larger batches of components. An inspection area of 400 × 600 mm accommodates optics weighing up to 55 kg, providing additional capacity for demanding applications. The fully enclosed system includes an integrated air filter and is suitable for use in ISO Class 6 cleanrooms.

Measuring head variants

The modular design of ARGOS allows you to choose the measurement head that best fits your inspection requirements. The S measurement head provides higher resolution for tight surface quality specifications. The M measurement head offers a larger field of view, enabling faster inspection when higher throughput is the priority.

ARGOS family of inspection solutions

ARGOS nexus pro

ARGOS nexus pro extends automated scratch/dig inspection to steep, highly curved optical surfaces. Coordinated positioning enables inspection of surface slopes up to 70°, while advanced illumination and imaging extend both dimensional and visibility-based inspection to curved surfaces. ARGOS nexus pro combines these capabilities with automated batch inspection and traceable surface quality results.

ARGOS Software

With our ARGOS software, measuring optical batches has never been easier. The inspection results can be reviewed in an interactive user interface and are also saved as PDF files for later viewing. The ARGOS software is included in the price of every ARGOS system. Custom software for specific applications can be developed upon request.

ARGOS Accessories

ARGOS is able to fulfill a wide range of inspection tasks. We offer customized tray mounts specifically designed to hold your optical elements, as well as self-centering mounts for individual optical elements. This allows a high degree of flexibility in meeting your inspection requirements. Our calibration samples enable remote calibration of ARGOS systems to keep your ARGOS running smoothly for years after purchase.
