WAVOS cap
WAVOS cap is the ideal measuring system for 360-degree inspection of cylindrical samples, hemispheres or domes. The combination of the WAVOS sensor head with a precise rotary table enables the automated measurement of protective hoods or caps of almost any shape.
Features and Benefits
Quality Control of Optical Covers
Industrially manufactured environmental sensors such as lidar sensors or surveillance cameras often have to cover large fields of view or 360-degree images. In order to guarantee the high resolution and reliability requirements of the sensors or cameras, the optical protective covers must also meet the highest quality standards. This is exactly what WAVOS cap provides.
The 360-Degree Measuring Principle
The 360-degree inspection of the WAVOS cap is based on the combination of the WAVOS measuring head and a precision rotary table. The light is coupled in via a periscope. This allows us to measure the influence of the test specimens on the angle of the transmitted light with high spatial resolution.
Tool Optimization and Pass/Fail Evaluation
WAVOS cap enables the reliable measurement of beam deflections in the range of a few µrad with minimal measurement time. By comparing the nominal and measured beam deflection evaluation, WAVOS enables optimization of injection molding processes and conducts pass/fail evaluations.

The WAVOS Family
WAVOS is the optimal solution for the quality inspection of plastic or glass protective screens. The automated inspection process is already in use for 100% inspection. The WAVOS cap is designed for the precise measurement of cylindrical components and hemispheres. The WAVOS cover has been developed for the inspection of flat and moderately curved samples. Both WAVOS inspection systems enable pass/fail evaluation in accordance with ISO 11010-14 or customer-specific requirements.
