Lenses with Demanding Specifications

We offer lenses with the most demanding specifications, including catalog products and custom solutions. If you require a lens that cannot be found in catalogs or are unsure what is suitable for your innovative project, we can assist.

We develop high-quality, cost-optimized lenses to your exact specifications, from the initial design draft using Synopsys CodeV to prototyping and integration into your production processes.

Optical Design

We specialize in the design and development of sophisticated optical components and complete optical systems for our customers. Our capabilities extend from simple fixed focal length lenses to complex zoom systems with motorized or manual focal length adjustment and focusing. Should you wish to continue working with your existing partners in production, we will optimize the optical design to align with their production processes.

Optomechanical Design

Optical and mechanical design must be integrated to achieve optimal performance. We are pleased to offer both services from a single source. Our teams possess proven expertise in system design. For instance, we can achieve thermal stabilization through a strategic combination of design and materials. Furthermore, if your products require a brand-specific look and feel, we will incorporate this into the design.

“DIOPTIC’s expertise in design and optical performance is very impressive. In our collaboration, we have experienced the prudent and responsible attitude with which DIOPTIC harmonizes the user’s objectives, production capacity, market positioning and other factors.”

In-House Manufacturing and Testing

Our in-house production specializes in prototypes and small series production. This allows us to validate concepts during the product development process. Furthermore, we can modify lenses to accommodate customer-specific applications, such as LIDAR, during testing. If it is convenient for you, we are also able to carry out the assembly and final testing of small batches for you in our clean room facilities.

Tolerance Analysis, Stray Light and Ghost Signal Suppression

Conducting continuous tolerance analysis from the concept phase ensures the systems we design are tailored to the manufacturing process. In particular, the analysis of potential sources of noise and ghost signals eliminates the risk of unpleasant surprises after production. Scattering path analysis is employed to ascertain the impact of scattered light on interference signals and to identify component corrections that can be implemented to minimize the effect of scattered light.

Optics for Head-Mounted Displays and Smart Glasses

Optics for Head-Mounted Displays and Smart Glasses

The imaging performance of the optics for head-mounted displays (HMDs) and augmented reality solutions (smart glasses) must meet very high standards due to the small size of the displays. In addition to positioning the optical module in front of the eye, various optical corrections are necessary to ensure that a virtual image can be read clearly and comfortably at a distance of approximately two meters. Thanks to our extensive system expertise, we have successfully launched innovative solutions for this, and we can now also support customer projects with optical components available from stock.

Infrared Macro Lenses for Thermography

Infrared Macro Lenses for Thermography

Special lenses for cooled infrared cameras in passive and active thermography are used, for example, in the quality inspection of conductor tracks or chips in the semiconductor industry. Our infrared macro lenses are designed for imaging the smallest structures and detecting minimal temperature differences. At higher magnifications, we utilize gold mirrors that have been specially adapted to the sensor's field of view, which minimize the thermal stray light from the lens.

Miniature Lenses for Driver Assistance Systems

Miniature Lenses for Driver Assistance Systems

The smaller the assembly, the more challenging it is to integrate optical systems. This is particularly true of miniature lenses for driver assistance systems, as the application requirements here are particularly complex. For example, the lenses must be able to provide a varying image scale over a field of view of 53°, while also being designed for high signal quality even in low ambient light and vignetting-free image quality. We are experienced in developingsolutions for such challenging applications.

Conoscope Lenses for LIDAR Testing

Conoscope Lenses for LIDAR Testing

LIDAR systems for environment detection are extremely demanding. They must be able to reliably detect and differentiate even small objects at a distance of over 100 meters. Thanks to our conoscope lenses, we have succeeded in extremely reducing the scale of the range check: depending on the focal length of the conoscope, a target measuring 1 cm (instead of 10 cm) can now be placed at a distance of just 6 m (instead of 60 m), for example.
